Point clouds, orthoprojections and 3D models for surveys and CAD/BIM workflows — FAE Drones
For architecture and BIM

Point clouds, orthoprojections and 3D models for surveys and CAD/BIM workflows

For architects and BIM coordinators, we configure capture and delivery around the required outcome: façades, plans, sections, a mesh or a point cloud.

For architecture and BIM

Point cloud and textured mesh

Façade orthoprojections

Agreed plans and sections

CAD/GIS/BIM formats defined before delivery

Coherent documentation

Turn photographs into a geometric working base

Separate photographs are visually useful but do not provide continuous geometry for measurement. Photogrammetric capture targets the coverage and overlap needed to reconstruct visible elements.

Hidden areas, reflective surfaces or fine-detail requirements may need additional capture or another method. These limits are discussed before quotation.

Planned capture

The image network is adapted to the building shape, visibility and requested result.

Inspectable geometry

The point cloud and mesh support visual inspection and measurement within the acquired data.

Team-ready delivery

Formats and processing level are agreed with the architect or BIM coordinator.

Deliverables

3D data and orthoprojections in useful formats

The published FAE Drones workflow includes point cloud, textured mesh, façade orthoprojections, plans, sections and a web model. Documented formats include LAS/LAZ, OBJ, PLY, FBX, 3DS, COLLADA, GeoTIFF and KMZ/KML, plus other agreed CAD/GIS/BIM formats.

The web model is optimised for review and does not replace the delivered technical file.

Public evidence

Published models and capture networks for Bran and Prejmer

The FAE Drones portfolio publishes 3D models and camera-network examples for Bran Castle and the fortified church at Prejmer. The technical page separates capture, reconstruction and delivery formats.

These examples let a team assess the type of result before defining its own asset requirements.

Public examples illustrate the workflow and output types; detail and coverage depend on access, visibility and each project's specification.

Send details of the site or asset. Receive the configuration suited to the outcome.

Tell us what you need to measure, the area or asset and the final format. We review feasibility, control and deliverables before mobilisation.
